A good proportion of Broken Rites members, old (Is that rude?) and new, gathered in the Abbey Centre in Westminster in May. The given reason was our 43rd AGM; at least that gave us the excuse to be sociable. We were not all C of E, and not all female; but we all had a good time.

The energy in the room was great; even the business bits were enjoyable, ably led by our outgoing chairperson. New committee volunteers were voted in, a reformulated expression of our aims was discussed, and a good lunch enjoyed. We spent the afternoon learning from each other, chatting in groups and enjoying three excellent but very varied presentations titled “This is Me, Now!”

Afterwards a sizeable group of us found our way to a local hostelry for further refreshments, before heading home to all corners of the UK.
